The Village. Les
Houches is a beautiful traditional Haute Savoie village, nestling
in an exceptional location within the Chamonix Valley at the foot
of Mont-Blanc. 
Close to The Skier's Lodge is
a mountain bike and climbing equipment hire shop, bars and restaurants. The centre
of Les Houches is a 10 minute walk and has a large supermarket,
shops, bars and a bank with a cash machine. The Tourist Office is
also here. 
Chamonix. The facilities are second to none offering some of the best and most varied in the Alps.
There's a cinema, casino, a sports centre with a whole array of facilities: A heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor Olympic size pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gymnasium, squash and tennis courts, ice rink and indoor climbing walls.
Cafés, pubs and bars aren’t in short supply either, from a quiet cosy corner to the more lively hangout. For those still feeling a little more energetic why not party the night away at one of the numerous nightclubs.

When approaching from the south west on the A40 you will find yourself on a viaduct climbing up into the Chamonix Valley. After the viaduct, the A40 will change into the N205 and you will then pass through two tunnels. After the second tunnel, the ‘Tunnel des Chavants’, which is 1000m long, take the next right turning, sign posted to ‘Les Houches’ (Bellevue -Prarion). Follow the windy road up to the ‘T’ junction at the ‘Bellevue Ski Lift’. Turn right here and drive for about 150m - you pass under a bridge. The bridge is actually the ski piste that passes over the road! Immediately on the right, on the other side of the bridge, is ‘The Skier’s Lodge’.
