Welcome. The Skier's
Lodge is ideally located in the World Cup Ski Circuit
venue of Les Houches, which is one of the ski areas
that make up the resorts of the Chamonix Valley. Under
the fabulous panorama of the Mont-Blanc chain, with
soaring peaks and sweeping glaciers, our chalet is in
a privileged position from which you can walk straight onto the meadow or take the two minute stroll to the cable car.
Our chalet welcomes individuals, couples,
families and groups of up to 20 people. Accommodation
is provided on a 'Bed & Breakfast' or 'Fully Catered'
basis and you can stay for any duration from a single
night through to two weeks or more!
Imagine. A
fairytale land of majestic, snow-capped mountain
peaks, green flower spinkled meadows, dotted with idylic
mountain chalets, deep blue glacial lakes, pure mountain
air, good food and wine, together with a warm and friendly
welcome - That's the beautiful alpine village of Les
Houches high in the French Alps.
For more than 200 years, Chamonix
has been one of the most popular summer destinations
due to its exceptional sightseeing possibilities around
the Mont Blanc massif. In the summer numerous cable-cars, chairlifts
and mountain railways make the mountain heights accessible
to everyone. With temperatures reaching 30 degrees in
the summer under clear blue skies - you're also guaranteed
a tan!
Accommodation. The Skier’s Lodge sleeps up to a maximum of 20
people. The chalet consists of three floors and has been extended over the
years. In autumn 2005 we completed a major refurbishment which included new
en-suite facilities, wetroom, sauna, and new lounge with comfy sofas, together
with the renewal of all electrics, the installation of fire doors and a hotel
standard fire alarm and smoke detection system.
En-suite Facilities. There are 7 guest bedrooms: On the upper floor are four
bedrooms, three have en-suite facilities with the forth having its own private
facilities across the hallway. On the ground floor is the entrance hall,
kitchen, a further bedroom with en-suite shower and hand-basin, the wet room,
sauna and separate toilet. A relaxing dining room with log fire and sitting area
is also here which opens up onto a huge elevated terrace providing superb views
of the Chamonix Valley and mountains. On the lower ground floor is a bedroom
with en-suite facilities and a bunkroom with en-suite shower and washbasin.
There is also a separate toilet. In addition, located here is the games/cards
room, and our new lounge/bar and patio doors opening out
onto our deck with outdoor swimming pool. There is a drying room, bike
storage and garden, also ample parking. Hot Tub. Our 'Grand Canyon' seven
seat hot tub was installed in November 2004. Situated on our terrace you can
relax and ease those tired muscles after a hard day's activities whilst enjoying the
fabulous view!

Thanks to Adie, Sarah, Graham
& Caroline for their holiday snap!
Sauna. As part of the renovations of our
chalet in autumn 2005 we installed a 4 person sauna and shower room on the
ground floor.
Swimming Pool. We
now have a 9m x 4m outdoor swimming pool which is surrounded
by a private deck area for sunbathing from which you
can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Games Room. Our existing bar/tv room has been
converted into a games room for children and adults alike with a seating area,
dartboard and the Sony PS2 will have it's own separate tv for the
addicts amongst us!
Lounge & Bar. We now have a large separate lounge area with comfy sofas for
relaxing, complete with recessed bar, internet broadband, and our new widescreen
50" plasma TV with Video/HD upscaled DVD, and Dolby Digital 6.1 Cinema Surround
Sound system. Food. Life
in our chalet seems to revolve around meal times, be
it hearty breakfasts (available from 4.00am - 09.30am), relaxed dinners or just a chat
at tea time. We are one of the few chalets that
in the summer that offer an optional evening
dinner! So start the day with our buffet breakfast,
come home after a day out to relax in the evening with our optional
evening dinners around the large communal table - or out in
the sun on our huge terrace, accompanied
by complimentary wine and rounded off with tea or coffee.
Things To Do. There
is a vast range of activities for all ages - and you'll
be hard pressed to fit them all in! You can choose from
walks along alpine trails, cable-car rides, mountain
railways, canoeing, whitewater rafting, tennis, archery,
climbing, and more! Or why not relax in the large outdoor
swimming pool at Chamonix which has waterslides for
the children! For the more adventurous there's tandem
parapente flights, the exciting summer tobbogan run
or even grass ski-ing! Les Houches and Chamonix are
the ideal base for a family holiday and you'll easily
find something to do that appeals to everyone, whatever
your energy level.
We
also offer a full programme of excursions using our
own 26 seat coach which is based at the chalet
for the season. Full day, half day, and evening sightseeing
is offered subject to a minimum number of participants.
Walking.
The Chamonix Valley and the Mont Blanc massif are a
walkers paradise! With over 350kms of footpaths in low
and mid-altitude they're the biggest and best kept network
in the Haute-Savoie region. There's a multitude of walks
for all levels from easy strolls with the family to
more adventurous hikes. The popular 'Tour du Mont-Blanc'
and many other trails start just 100m
